Two Months Old

Our little guy is officially 2 months old now! It's crazy to think that it's been that long. Although, some days it feels like he should be doing more than he is, but I try to remind myself that he should only be about a month old. He is thriving and is doing more and more everyday. He had his two month shots a couple weeks ago and did great. A little fussy a couple hours after we got home and VERY sleepy for a day, but took it like a champ! We weighed him his morning at the doctors and he is 8 lbs 4 oz. It is a HUGE deal that he is finally above 8 lbs! Our doctor said that as soon as we hit the eight pound mark we could travel with him and feed him on demand(as he is hungry) instead of EVERY three hours around the clock. So mama and dada are pretty pumped about the extra sleep we are about to get! We have cheated a couple nights and he will go at least 4-5 hours before waking up at night(during the day its still pretty much every 3 hours), so we are pumped for a little more sleep!
Other than his weight, he continues to develop and grow daily! He is eating between 3-3.5 oz of formula at each feeding. He is bringing his hands together in front of him, but not looking at them quite yet. He just started this weekend really focusing on our faces a lot more. And it seems like the little light switch went off and he's starting to really see more things around him. He still HATES his carseat. I am not sure if its because it's SO hot here(been around 100 everyday for the past month) or if its because he's still pretty small and the straps kinda cut into his little neck. Either way, he hates it. He will tolerate it only if he is moving...rocking, or driving in the car. So we frequently slow down to red lights about 1000 feet before we should just to keep the little guy happy. Or we also frequently tap on the brakes as we are sitting still to give him a little movement and keep mama and dada from hearing him scream! He is also starting to smile a little more and I'm sure they are gassy smiles but it melts our hearts to see him smile when we are talking to him or kissing on him! He has been to mass several times now and has done great. He's really such a happy boy most of the time. Although, he has gotten a little 'demanding' lately. I think mama may have spoiled him a bit when he got his shots because since then, he doesn't want to be put down. He does fine as long as he's going to bed at night but during the day he wants to be held. = ) He occasionally will tolerate his swing, but no longer likes his bouncer or will lay on the floor. In his defense, he has a little reflux so he doesn't like to lay flat after he eats, and when you eat every three hours, you are constantly dealing with a full tummy. So the baby bijorn has become our great friend! And I know people will probably read or hear this and say that I need to break this habit now...but honestly, I waited over three years for a baby and if he wants his mama to hold him, his mama will hold him. No questions asked. End. of. story.
